Se utilizan estos pivotes individuales de goma y no las tiras de goma cuando el instrumento no tiene clavos normales sino clavos estriados en forma de abeto navideño.
También claramente se usan cuando el instrumento es bastante antiguo.
En los más nuevos se usan tiras de goma negras Honsuy Percusión.
